The Selected Implications on Effects to Traditional Business Sectors of Increasing Marketing in WWW – tentative findings
The use of internet marketing of the durable goods has provided many implications on trading and service processes such as real estate and car trading business in Finland. The objectives of transaction and trading, i.e. the houses and cars, are not yet actually sold via internet. Hence, the digitalized services and modern market places should be constructed in order to satisfy future coming needs of ebusiness. In this paper of time serial research and data concerning internet utilization and it’s implications on business process of car trading and real estate business. The phenomena are pointed out by multivariate analyses, especially factor analyses in time serial data 2002-2006. The use of internet in information retrieval has increased from 66% (2002) into 81% (both 2004 and 2006) of questionnaire fulfilled customers in real estate business. In second hand car trading business the comparable amount of internet users has increased from 56 % (2003) to 75 % (2005) of all answered customers. The main focus is to analyze the development of phenomena concerning the increasing role of internet as information source in purchasing process, especially comparing value chain theories and information retrieval in real estate and used car markets. The time serial analyses points out at least the main competitiveness factors of the website marketing. Also some expected development of competitive capabilities are presented in the conclusion part of study

Overnight News and Daily Equity Trading Risk Limits
This paper proposes a new bivariate modeling approach for setting daily equity-trading risk limits using high-frequency data. We construct one-day-ahead Value-at-Risk (VaR) forecasts by taking into account the different dynamics of the overnight and daytime return processes and their covariance. The covariance is motivated by market microstructure effects such as price staleness and news spillover. Among the competitors we include a simpler bivariate model where the overnight return is redefined by moving the open price further into the trading day, and a univariate model based on the close-to-close return and an overnight-adjusted realized volatility. We illustrate the different approaches using data on the S&P 500 and Russell 2000 indices. The evidence in favour of modeling the covariance is more convincing for the latter index due to the lower trading volumes and, relatedly, the less efficient price discovery at market open for small-cap stocks

Combining Nearest Neighbor Predictions and Model-Based Predictions of Realized Variance: Does it Pay?
The increasing availability of intraday financial data has led to improvements in daily volatility forecasting through long-memory models of realized volatility. This paper demonstrates the merit of the non-parametric Nearest Neighbor (NN) approach for S&P 100 realized variance forecasting. A priori the NN approach is appealing because it can reproduce complex dynamic dependencies while largely avoiding misspecification and parameter estimation uncertainty, unlike model-based methods. We evaluate the forecasts through straddle trading profitability metrics and using conventional statistical accuracy criteria. The ranking of individual forecasts confirms that statistical accuracy does not have a one-to-one mapping into profitability. In turbulent markets, the NN forecasts lead to higher risk-adjusted profitability even though the model-based forecasts are statistically superior. In both calm and turbulent market conditions, the directional combination of NN and model-based forecasts is more profitable than any of the individual forecasts
Yleinen edunvalvonta ja muistisairaan päämiehen itsemääräämisoikeuden kunnioittaminen
Tutkielman aiheena on edunvalvonnassa olevan muistisairaan päämiehen itsemääräämisoikeus.
Näissä tilanteissa päämiestä on aina pyrittävä kuulemaan. Yhteistoimintavelvoite ei kuitenkaan rajoitu ainoastaan näihin asiaryhmiin. Ottaen huomioon edunvalvonnan luonteen ensisijaisesti päämiehen omaa autonomiaa tukevana ja avustavana järjestelynä tulisi päämiehen henkilökohtaiseen tuntemiseen sekä säännölliseen vuorovaikutukseen panostaa nykyistä enemmän. Valitettavasti yhä edelleen edunvalvonnassa olevan päämiehen itsemääräämisoikeuden toteutuminen riippuu pitkälti siitä, miten hyvin hänen edunvalvojansa pyrkii kuulemisvelvoitetta noudattamaan
